  • CloudLinux Random 502 error

November 19, 2018 by Anoop Alias
  • Hi,

Off recent, we have received  multiple support requests from the server owners installed with CloudLinux+mod_lsapi

seeing a random 5xx error in XtendWeb (nginx ) in PROXY mode

The issue manifests itself as random 500 error, high connection count to httpd etc.

The root cause is Apache segfaulting

    ##

    in /etc/apache2/logs/error_log

AH00052: child pid xxxx exit signal Segmentation fault (11)

    ##

and the fix is to upgrade lsapi

    ##

    yum update liblsapi liblsapi-devel ea-apache24-mod_lsapi --enablerepo=cl-ea4-testing --enablerepo=cloudlinux-updates-testing

    service httpd restart

    ##

Note: This message is sent as an announcement mainly due to the number of support request we received related to this. It does not refer to all servers! , but only servers installed with a certain version of CloudLinux kernel/httpd/mod_lsapi/lsphp.  A segmentation fault logged in Apache error log was observed in all cases we dealt with and this was fixed by mod_lsapi upgrade mentioned above. If you are unsure of anything, please contact CloudLinux technical support

    Thank you,

    Team A U T O M 8 N
